When returning to exercise post injury or when dealing with a chronic biomechanical restriction or pain, it is necessary to take a very specific pathway to return to full function which is different for every individual.
In this instance training can be micro-modified into “baby steps” to assist safe and effective rehabilitation.
As this session is one to one, this can happen without the individual feeling under pressure to perform to keep up with a group. The exercises are specifically tailored for the client and these can evolve as the client improves on an exercise by exercise basis.
There is always another way to achieve progression other than the obvious – this is best achieved through personal training under close supervision.
The client can then continue to then safely return back to a normal training programme.
